It’s straight up weird living in a place where it’s normal to see water dragons just laying around, sunning themselves. We must have seen about 20 today.
French filmmaker Vincent Moon, director of The Take-Away Shows tonight at the Seymour Center.
I’ve been a fan of Vincent’s work for years, and I speak about The Take-Away Shows like they are gospel. I’m always thrilled to come across a music-lover who hasn’t heard of them. Oh the hours you can waste (not waste) on that site.
Vincent was…fascinating. An exhausting mind, very passionate, very confusing.
It was interesting to hear him speak of how much of a struggle it was to shoot the Sigur Ros take-away show, which is one of my very favourites.
Anyway, a great end to a wonderful day.
Balcony smoothies are the new balcony beers, or so I’ve heard.
My tumblr-turned-real-life friend Breanna just moved to Sydney from Minnesota! We had a beautiful brunch today in Mosman, roamed the Manly beaches and got sufficiently burnt, and wound up at my lovely home where I allowed her plenty of time to gush over my view, which I will miss so, so dearly.

Russell from Six Feet Under (Ben Foster) was there and I JUST ABOUT DIED. Why is he in Oz? He was there with a well-known blonde American actress whose (who’s?) name I have yet to remember, but I will.
But anyway, Russell!!!!
Dear New York,
You are relentless, exhausting and far away. You can be lonely and difficult and you are severely lacking in palm trees. You are not perfect. But you are inspiring, challenging, creative, ambitious and magical. Bursting with possibility.
And come to find out, I’m just not my best me without you.
So I’m moving back, in March.
I can’t wait to see you, and I can’t wait to get this smile back on my face.
